In a world of lookalike Tesla Y's, the Rivian stands apart. Not just for its rugged, interesting look that catches your eye, but also for unique touches along the way.Rivian lent me an R1S electric SUV for a week to test drive. I took it on a road trip to Paso Robles. This all-electric, three row SUV is rugged and commanding, yet gentle on the planet. It even makes a bird-like chirp when you lock the doors.Driving a Rivian is like joining a small club, other Rivian drivers would flash their lights or wave as I passed. That's kind of fun.The SUV sits up high, with two giant screens front and center. The maps and system software are top notch without any lag.Driving is smooth and the car feels solid, but not too rigid. There are three rows with tons of space inside are lots of creature comforts. This includes a removeable Bluetooth speaker in the center console, a pull-out flashlight in the door, plus a power outlet and air compressor in the trunk.Charging proved to be the trickiest part ...US Secretary of State Antony Blinken says 'we need to do more to protect Palestinian civilians'

Meat Puppets Love Liars: Derrick Bostrom of the Meat Puppets told us about his Liars experience.Derrick Bostrom: The Liars were no one you’ve ever heard of; just three older guys from another high school who we used to buy pot from. One day they decided to start a punk rock band. Back in late seventies Phoenix, that could earn you a severe beating if you weren’t careful. Imagine my shock when they showed up at my high school for a lunch time performance! Turns out, a friend of mine tricked both the school and the band into doing the show, which, of course the students hated. But I was awestruck by The Liars. I don’t suppose you’d hear it any more – the passing of time having made what was so special about them commonplace now – but this was thirty-five years ago. Imagine if Tony Iommi from Black Sabbath had joined the Ramones and they played prog-punk arrangements of Leif Garrett’s “That’s Rock And Roll” and Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams.” Th...Microdosing vs. Megadosing — How Should You Dose CBD Oil?

Published Mon, 25 Nov 2024 05:04:21 GMT
As the Alameda County Board of Supervisors considers changing their recall procedures, some residents have begun to question whether the move is an earnest effort to modernize the county charter or a blatant power grab.“This repeal is much, much more extensive than the county is presenting to the public,” said Jason Bezis, an attorney for the Alameda County Taxpayers Association. “It’s overreaching, what they’re trying to do.”Questions first arose in October after the county’s lawyer, Donna Ziegler, prepared a report highlighting problems with the county’s current recall rules for elected and appointed officials. According to Ziegler, the county’s laws contained decades-old procedures that were “a detriment to ensuring lawful, competent, and timely recalls.” Her report recommended that the county adopt the state’s recall language instead.Related ArticlesCalifornia Politics | Here’s the first glimpse of who is spending money to oust Alameda County DA Pamela Price ...Latest news
